What is inquiry? To be honest I have never heard of this
word until college. So I ask myself why is this classed name this and what does
it mean. After doing some research I have come up with my own definition and it
basically means to ask questions to get information. This word has everything
to deal with not only this class, but also every other class we are taking. We
constantly ask questions to obtain new information of the new topic presented
and even in your social and personal life we ask questions about everything. In
microbiology we have a list of new vocab words and two of them are amoeba and volvox.
An amoeba is a single-celled animal that catches food and moves about. A volvox
is a single-celled aquatic algae that lives in s freshwater habitats. These to
vocab words apply to my microbiology class because we are learning about their functions and contributes to the animal life over the next week.

1I Peace & Quiet
Knowing that our academic life is very important we all do our best to
get all of our work done in the quietest places. For me, when my dorm is loud
and I cannot seem to concentrate I pick my things up and head for the
library. I walk out of my dorm and head towards the library. I walk over
the bridge passing Connecticut Hall and the Student Center, and then take left
that brings me to Buley library. The library is located right across form the
cemetery. Not only is this place peaceful and quiet, but it also provides
resources to aid you with schoolwork. Everyone comes here to get his or
her work done and it is a very helpful resource so why not take advantage of
it.

1B Comparing Blogs
As I read different blogs on different websites, I could defiantly say
that all blogs are not the same. Some blogs contain positions on a point of
view that they feel strongly about or it can give some recipes and the bloggers
thought about the recipe. As I read some blogs, what stood out to me was that
all the blogs have some sort of message to the readers. No matter what the
blogs may be about, they still give information about the blog to inform the
reader what's going on and how they feel about the topic.
Some blogs may have pictures or videos to go along with the blog and
give a better comprehension about what the blogger is trying to show or
explain. All the blogs are organized differently according to how the blogger
wants to represent their idea. For example, one of the food blogs I read, there
was a recipe on how to make the certain food, explained how to make the certain
food and gave her thoughts on the recipe and why she thought it was a great
recipe.
No matter what type of blog you read, it is informative on the topic the
blogger is explaining. For example, on the taganskitchen website there was a
blog about a pie eating contest and gave the important information like the
date, how much tickets are, etc. From the three different websites, all the
blogs that I read were different in the way of how they were structured, how
they organized their ideas and if they included their opinion or not.
Personally I have never had any experiences with blogs or using them, but after
reading a few, they can be informative and helpful in making dinner or learning
about what is going on in the world around us.
1A My Road To Success
Being a
first year student brings many new adventures and opportunities to students.
Much approach their college experience with the mindset that they can do
whatever they want, which is true, but also have to realize that there is a lot
of responsibility involved as well. Once on campus, college not only affects
your academic life, but also your social and personal life. Learning to balance
schoolwork and your social life is a major key throughout our college careers.
Starting off with move in day, I had already meet so many new people and
my social life was beginning to expand even more by meeting others and making
new friends. As the days passed, my roommates and I were social butterflies
making new friends and introducing them to one another. Once the first day of
school had started it was where my academic life would change for the better,
but only if I wanted it to. The first week of class is over and now it’s where
the real journey begins towards my future career.
My expectations for college are exactly what I pictured them to be. We
have to take on much more responsibility in our academic life if we want to
succeed and time management is an important aspect too. Being involved in
organizations and clubs is a great way to meet people and be active with the
SCSU community. As the semester goes on I hope to be able take in everything I’ll
be learning and apply it to my daily life and path towards my nursing career.
Along the way I hope to be able to communicate with other classmates and help
them as well as all of us want to succeed towards our futures that are just
beginning. College is not all fun and games, there are times to have fun and
enjoy yourself, and there are times where you dedicate yourself to your
schoolwork.
