14I Who Knew Study Rooms Existed?
One VERY quiet place on campus to study or do
homework is a study room in the library. When your room is too loud or your
hall way is too loud there is always a resource where you can just book a room
for yourself or for you and a group of people to study. To be honest I never
knew there were study rooms in our library and now that is basically where I go
all the time. My roommate introduced me to them when she told me to meet her at
the library.
It was very easy to do homework and have a very quite area to just
concentrate on your homework. I get so much done when I book a room, which is
very easy. You can either go online to the buley library website and book a
study room or you can go into the library and book it in person. You just need
your hootloot and you're all set. You get the room for two hours and you get to
choose between whatever rooms are available. I recommend to use a study room a
couple of times because trust me you will love it!
14V What Have You Invested In?
Investing in something is very
important. Whether it is investing money in purchasing an item or items or just
investing your time in something that will help you out in the long run.
Investing is very important in life and that it basically how we get around in
life now days. Investing means to put in time or money into something that you
want to put it in to.
Investing time into your school hours
and hours outside of class is helpful for yourself to succeed in that class and
become a better student. For investing time in anything is important because it
is time in my life that I am putting into whatever I want. Balancing what you
invest in in college is sometimes hard, but you just have to know how to
balance it to still be successful. Being able to balance your money and time in
college is very helpful to keep on going in life.
Some new words this week is folliculitis,
which means infections of the hair follicles and sty, which
means folliculitis of an eyelash. In microbiology we are learning about
the bacteria in our body and how it affects what and us parts of our body
protects us from microorganisms.
14B What Are You Thankful For?
Since Thanksgiving is coming up there are many
things that I am thankful in life right now. I could name a long list of
things, but that would take too long. So I am just going to name things that I
am thankful for school wise this semester.
What I am thankful for is being able to get through
the semester and finishing and accomplishing my first semester of college.
Being able to finish my first semester of college is so great and is happy that
I know I can go on for the next four years. Being such a stressful semester and
being new to this whole different experience is great and am thankful for all
the resources the school has provided us in order to help us. Also, I am
thankful for my parents for being able to support me through this whole process
and always being able to help with anything I need. Without them I know that me
going to college would have been impossible.
I am also thankful for the professors and family and friends for being
supportive and just being there during stressful moments making and reminding
me that college is so important and to never give up. College has been such a
great experience just for my semester and cannot wait to see what lays in the
future for me. Hopefully be a nurse sometime in he future because that is what
I want to do, but I know without hard work and long hours of studying that is
impossible. I just need the motivation to get me through it and support to keep
me alive
14 A Stress Relieving Tactics
Thinking about how finals are only 2 weeks away is
probably the most stressful thing in my life right now. Along with the loads of
last minute work that is being assigned like video projects, lecture projects,
lab reports, papers and so on I have started to help myself by starting to
minimize the work load by doing most of it before thanksgiving break.
So far I have finished my lecture project, which is
such a relief considering my group and I banged the project out this morning in
the library. I already had started it before hand and just added some last
minute information to it. I have also finished my lab report that is also due
when we get back from break, which is another relief to be able to check it off
my planner. It was not easy getting these projects done, but I just had to put
the time and effort to accomplish it so I am not so stressed over break and can
enjoy myself at least a little with my high school friends. What I have also
done is started my video project, but don't really know how to go about it. I
have some ideas, but I am not sure how to put it together to make it a high
level college thinking video. It will be a challenge, but I know I will be able
to make it something good. I am also going to finish my blogs for this week
today so that I do not have to worry about that over break and be cramming last
minute writing them before midnight Saturday night.
I think I have done a great job so far getting some work off my
shoulders, but I am still not off the hook over break. My plan is to just have
to work on my video project and my paper over break so it won't be too much to
do and not so stressful when it is supposed to be a time to relax before
finals. Overall I think I am going in the right direction and cannot wait until
winter break is here!

13I The Mysterious Library
For English we are writing a paper and for one of our sources we had to get a book from the library to use as one of our sources. When I heard that my heart stopped because all I thought of was how am I going to find a book for my topic, which is fast food. One day of class was left for us to take advantage of and to explore the library ourselves. So the first thing I did was look up a book online and have the serial number of the book to be able to find it quicker.
And so I went to the reference desk to ask where I could I find this book and how. She told me that with the serial number of the book that is on the side of all the books in the library I would find it. And so since the serial number for the book is TX 945 . J3 1991 I went to the third floor because it is basically at the end of the alphabet. I looked for TX when I got off the elevator and finally found the row. Now I had to find the shelf it was on. The letter and the numbers that follows it organize it and I finally had found the book. In the end, it was not too bad to find the book, but it was scary to think of looking for books in this huge library. This book helps me give evidence in my essay to show how fast food has too many calories and compare it to the consumption of alcohol.
