10A Reflecting is Key

Our midterm video assignment was definitely something stressful for me even though we had a reasonable period of time to do it. Going over the requirements for the topic I think I did a good job on having a beginning, middle, and end because I had imaged to ask questions and give answers to them and show students and staff members perspectives on the questions. I think my introduction of what the program is was very strong because I showed what it offered and the steps towards making our academics successful in our first year. Something else I thought I did well was getting all the little details in because I made sure that everything made sense and that the video ran smoothly. 

Something’s I think I could have worked on were the amount of people I interviewed (I had three students and one staff member of the FYE program). I think I could have interview possibly a professor to show a professors perspective of this program. It would give a little more of variety to the answers of each question. My time limit was 5-6 minutes and mine was 5 minutes and 7 seconds, which I think, is ok, but I think I explained what the program was and its advantages for us in the time that I recorded. 

The technology part of this project was working with me when I was making my draft and trying to post it on my blog. I still could not figure out how to put the actual video on my blog for my final either, but instead I put the link to the YouTube video on my blog and once you clicked it would automatically bring you to my video that was posted on YouTube. Other difficulties with the project was trying to figure out how to do certain things on iMovie, which was a struggle, and annoying, but I got through them and managed to make a good insightful video of the FYE program. 

I think I did a good job getting the audiences interest because I made it run smoothly and added music so it was catchy. It was very insightful and the beginning where I explained what the program was and how it worked, I thought was very insightful. The grade I would give myself would be a B+ because there were something’s I could have tweaked and re-done, but I just had no time to re-do things cause of the deadline. What I would change if I had more time would have been to make sure the interviews were clear enough. The voice in them was shot a little because of the noise in the background. Making this video was definitely a challenge, but I managed to make it work and create what I think is a great view of what the FYE program is.
