When people hear or think of failure you automatically think that you or that person that has failed is wrong and made mistakes. The definition of failure is the lack of success or the omission of expected or required material. The majority of people think that failure is bad and not acceptable because you did not succeed. To me I think that failure is something that everyone encounters in life no matter what, even if you like it or not.
Failing at anything is something no one wants to do
or hear that you have failed. Especially when you have tried so hard and put in
so much effort into whatever you have been working at stinks. It can either
lower your confidence or boost it by making it into a learning experience. Does
it lower your confidence or help to boost your confidence? As I was saying
before I think that failure is a good to have once in a while because it can
act a learning experience and help not only yourself, but you can teach others
from not doing the same mistake that you have.
To be honest, I don't think that there are any safe
environments where failing is acceptable, which is sad. Some people may think
that school can be a safe environment to fail in because that is how you learn
and keep going, but then when you go home you may have parents that are not
happy with you failing and that can lower you self-esteem and confidence.
Teachers can probably be a mentor you look up to get advice if you have failed,
but there are some that are harsh and criticize you like no other; leading it
to not helping you. I believe that school should be a safe place to fail
because it is a learning environment which is what failing is all about.
There definitely kids that are pressured not to fail. I can just name a
few from my high school class. There is this one kid I know that cannot accept
failure. He always studied crazy hours to make sure he succeeded which he did,
but he pushed HIMSELF to not fail because to him that was not an option. I
believe that everyone should accept failure because without failure then we
don't learn from any experiences. When I say no one can escape failure, I mean
no one, not even famous actors or artists or anyone in those categories. I'm
positive that they have had failure in their lives at some points in order to
get where they are.
Some say failure is the key to success, others don’t think it is, but
when I think about it, I believe to learn from every experience you have and
may have failed at some of them, is the best way to learn about yourself and
others. In order to succeed you must fail first.
“[He] wants his students to succeed, of course- it’s just that he
believes that in order to do so, they first need to learn how to fail”
