If you don't realize it, but I'll just hand it to
you, that persistence is present in our lives daily. Does not matter if we have short-term goals, long-term goals
or challenges that we have to overcome, but it is there. Defining persistence
is easy. I am sure you have heard this word before, but let's define it for
others that may be clueless right now. Persistence is the ability that allows
someone to continue doing something or try to do something even though it may
be difficult or opposed by other people.
Persistence is something that is very important
when it comes to being presented with challenges. For example, if you play a
sport, lets say like track, and have had trouble trying to get better so you
can beat the record for best sprinter. You have to have that persistence to
keep on trying even if it the road gets rough. You may injure yourself along
the way, but never seem to give up until you achieve what you want to achieve.
You just have to set your mind to it and make happen even if you fail multiple
times.Giving up is not the answer to persistence!
Persistence can also relate to your education. If
you want to succeed then you will keep striving towards your goals. By learning
something new everyday or new words, puts you on the right path towards furthering
your education. I am persistence about my education and have learned a few new
words this week. One of them is semantic ambiguity meaning that a word has more
than one meaning. And factual dispute means having a disagreement over relevant
facts and not the actual meaning of a word. These two words are related to each
other because they are ways to be imprecise. Both of these words are defined in
vague ways or are just not acknowledged in their actual meaning. Learning new
words every week helps me understand the things we are learning in class and be
able to aid other of my peers if they need help!
Hope you to can learn from these words and apply them to your education
or maybe even your daily lives!
